Summer “TEEN TV” Workshop
July 21, 22 and 23
The Public Access Television Corporation is offering a special Video Workshop for Teens. Various aspects of TV production will be covered in this initial 3 day session. Participants will receive instruction in Studio and Control Room Video equipment including the production skills necessary to create a “Magazine” format TV show.
The Magazine format is a locally-produced light news, entertainment, and informational show. The Magazine format show includes on - camera anchors and segments both in the field and in the studio.
The goal of this workshop is to produce “TEEN NEWS”, a show created by teens, for teens and totally about topics that interest teens.
Our instructor for the workshop is Mr. John Collins, a Media teacher who has taught television production for over 30 years in the Mineola and Locust Valley school districts and as an adjunct professor at Long Island University. Mr. Collins heads his own video production company and presently works for Queens Public Television as a producer and director.
Dates: Monday, July 21, Tuesday, July 22 and Wednesday, July 23
Time: 10am – 3pm.
Eligible students for this project are teens entering 9th grade
(in Sept.) through college. No previous experience in video is necessary. Fill – out the registration form and mail back with check to PATV.
Cost for this special teen workshop is $200.
Includes membership for one year.
Enrollment is limited to 12 students.

PATV is offering training in TV production for community residents interested in the "Women in Technology" program. This workshop is open to women of all ages who reside in the incorporated villages of
